Business E-Visa

  • Electronic visa for Australian citizens who require to stay in Sri Lanka for business purposes.
  • A maximum 30 days stay is granted through the Business Visa, which can be extended up to 90 days while staying there.
  • An original and duly signed copy of Australian passports is needed to obtain this electronic visa within two to five days via email.

Tourist Visa 30 Days+

  • Australian citizens looking to stay in Sri Lanka for over the duration of 30 days, given recreational or educational purposes may obtain this visa type.
  • Applicants residing in New South Wales region are strongly given preference for this visa type. However, applicants from other Australian states can try getting their visa application approved to a registered consulate and get a chance at it as well. 
  • An original and duly signed copy of Australian passports is needed to obtain this electronic visa within two to five days via email.

Tourist Visa for children below the age of 12

Sri Lanka Visa Requirements for Australian Citizens

  • A vivid, duly signed copy of Australian passports is required for screening procedures. This passport should have a validity of 6 months or over remaining after the date of return. 
  • Tourist Visa for children below the age of 12 is valid for 30 days of the recreational or educational trip to Sri Lanka and can be extended to 90 days during the stay.

There are certain documents and identity proofs required to undertake the Sri Lanka visa granting process for Australian citizens.

  • Sri Lanka Visa Application Form:
    An application including the visitor’s name, address, occupation, income status, the reason behind applying for a Sri Lankan Visa and other necessary details is required to be submitted. Many already prepared visa application templates can be found online to make it easier on you.
  • Original and duly signed Australian Passport:
    An original Australian passport valid for a minimum of 6 months after the expected date of return from Sri Lanka is required along with the Visa application.
  • Complete itinerary:
    An updated trip itinerary mentioning the locations you will be staying in each day and exact departure timings from each. A copy of round-trip tickets has to be included alongside.
  • Business invitation (Exclusive to Business Visa applicants) :
    Business visa applicants have to submit a valid invitation letter from their Sri Lankan sponsor company registered in the state.

This will include contact details and address of the company, the reason for travel and decided dates and a signature from the visitor’s host, who should either be the company’s owner or Senior Manager.
