Once an ETA is approved, it remains valid for six months. In case of a business and tourist purpose of stay, this means that the initial entry has to take place within half a year from the issuance date.

An ETA authorizes each person who holds it, to enter the country twice; however, the 2nd entry has to take place within 30 days from the previous departure from Sri Lanka.

As a tourist or a business visitor, you are entitled to stay in the country territory for a maximum period of 30 days.

When transiting through Sri Lanka with an ETA, you will be able to stay in the country territory up to 2 days from the appointed point in time.

If you need to stay in Sri Lanka for a period up to 120 days, you can visit the immigration Headquarters in Colombo, and apply for an extension.

What requirements should I meet, and what documents should I prepare to apply for a Sri Lanka visa for a Luxemburg citizen?

The government of Sri Lanka doesn’t require any additional documentation to be attached to the ETA application.

Each person who wishes to obtain this electronic authorization is compelled to provide all personal and travel details, that will be for which she or he will be asked for.

There is no need to provide digital or physical copies of documents such as a passport or previously obtained visas.

The most relevant requirement each applicant has to meet while applying online for a Sri Lankan visa for a Luxemburg citizen is to make sure that the passport validity exceeds 180 days (half a year) from the intended date of entry.

The processing time usually does not exceed 24 hours; however, it is always dependable on the pace with which the government works. Once your ETA application is reviewed and granted, it will be assigned to your email address.

There is no need for you to print out the confirmation you will receive to your email address.
