Who needs a Sri Lanka eTA

Types of Sri Lanka eTA

  • Tourist eTA, a double-entry permit valid 6 months; up to 30 days total in Sri Lanka.
  • Business eTA, a double-entry permit valid 6 months; up to 30 days for conferences, contracts and
  • negotiations.
  • Transit eTA, valid 2 days from arrival, for travellers transiting to another country. (Transit
  • without a visa is allowed if your onward flight departs within 10 hours of arrival.)

What you need to apply

The application takes about 10 minutes online. You will need:

  • A passport valid for at least 6 months from your planned arrival date in Sri Lanka
  • Your personal data and passport information
  • Contact details (email address and telephone number)

No additional documents need to be uploaded. Once approved, your eTA is sent to your email as a PDF, usually within a few days.
